§ 17.24.090. Year 2030 comprehensive plan.

  • A.

    Pursuant to Sections 62.23(2) and 62.23(3), Wisconsin Statutes, the city of Juneau is authorized to prepare and adopt a comprehensive plan as defined in Sections 66.1001(1)(a) and 66.1001(2), Wisconsin Statutes.

    B.

    The city of Juneau Common Council has adopted written procedures designed to foster public participation in every stage of the preparation of a comprehensive plan as required by Section 66.1001(4)(a), Wisconsin Statutes.

    C.

    The city of Juneau Plan Commission, by a majority vote of the entire commission, has passed a resolution recommending to the city of Juneau Common Council the adoption of the document entitled "City of Juneau Year 2030 Comprehensive Plan" containing all of the elements specified in Section 66.1001(2), Wisconsin Statutes.

    D.

    The city of Juneau has provided numerous opportunities for public involvement in accordance with the public participation strategy adopted by the plan commission, including numerous public meetings with respect to preparation of the "City of Juneau Year 2030 Comprehensive Plan," a public informational meeting on November 4, 2004, and a public hearing on July 14, 2005, in compliance with the requirements of Section 66.1001(4), Wisconsin Statutes.

    E.

    The city of Juneau Common Council does, by the enactment of this chapter, formally adopt the document entitled, "City of Juneau Year 2030 Comprehensive Plan," pursuant to Section 66.1001(4)(c), Wisconsin Statutes.

    F.

    This chapter shall take effect upon passage by a majority vote of the members elect of the city of Juneau Common Council and publication/posting as required by law.
