§ 2.24.030. Duties of police chief.

    Duties. In addition to the duties imposed upon him by this code, the chief of police shall have the following duties:

    1.

    He shall keep in his office a record of all arrests made by members of the department, traffic tickets issued, the dates, hours and places thereof, names or persons arrested, arresting officers, offenses charged, actions taken and results.

    2.

    He shall submit a written monthly report to the common council of all activities and transactions of the department during the preceding month.

    B.

    Powers. The chief shall have command of the police force of the city and shall have custody, care and control of the property and equipment of the department.

    C.

    Sergeant of the Police Department. In the absence or incapacity of the chief, the sergeant of the police department shall perform the chief's duties.
