§ 2.28.050. Fire inspections.

    The fire inspectors shall inspect semi annually all commercial/public buildings, premises and public thoroughfares within the city for the purpose of noting and causing to be correct any condition liable to cause fire. The inspector shall also investigate the storage and handling of explosives within the city.

    B.

    Removal of Hazards. Whenever any inspection by the chief or his deputies shall serve a notice in writing upon the owner of the property giving the owner a reasonable time in which to remove the hazard. If the fire hazard is not removed within the time allowed, it shall be a public nuisance, and shall be abated pursuant to the provisions of this code.

    C.

    Records and Report. The chief shall keep a written record of each property inspected as per the Department of Commerce, Chapter Comm 14.02(e).

    D.

    Access to Premises. No person shall hinder or obstruct the fire inspector in the performance of his duty or refuse to observe any lawful direction given by him.
