§ 12.16.080. Camping.

  • A.

    General Prohibition. Camping is allowed only in designated areas of city parks.

    B.

    Unless specifically stated otherwise, all city ordinances apply to campgrounds within the city of Juneau, including, but not limited to, the following:

    1.

    Section 6.04.100, Animal feces, of this code;

    2.

    Section 9.04.010, Discharging and carrying firearms and guns prohibited, of this code;

    3.

    Section 9.04.040, Burning, of this code;

    4.

    Section 9.04.130, Improper use of parks, of this code.

    C.

    No person may be in any camping area after eleven p.m., unless they have registered. Self-registration forms are available at the park shelter.

    D.

    Persons under the age of eighteen (18) years are not allowed in campsites, unless accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.

    E.

    No trees, shrubs or vegetation of any kind shall be cut or otherwise damaged, except maintenance performed by city personnel.

    F.

    Glass containers of any kind are not allowed in the parks.

    G.

    Rules. The use of campsites in the city of Juneau shall be subject to such rules as the common council may from time to time adopt by resolution.

    H.

    Penalty. Any person who violates any section of the ordinance or any rule adopted by the common council shall be subject to a forfeiture of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) and not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) for the first offense and not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) and not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for the second and any subsequent offense.
